"It's raining leprosy and acid...."

Well, the Dresden Dolls have been and gone. It was fantastic. If you don't want step by step details of my evening, skip this post.

I arrived early, at about 5. The doors didn't open till six so i was there for a while, i just walked up and down and chatted to random people. I <3 Dresden dolls fans. You can start a conversation with a random one and they don't even flinch.

My friend turned up just before six and we went in, i love the arena. It's freaking tiny, as any good venue should be. We (or more accuratly she) stocked up on merch, and then the show began. The first support act was this guy whose name i forgot (i'll go find it now) and he was great. He was a crazy man with an accordian. He sang a song about aardvarks, a drinking song (despite the fact that it was an all ages event) and later came back for a cover of outkast's Heya, which he managed to pull off without sucking. More than outkast could do. He also later joined the dolls for a stirring redtition of bon jovi's living on a prayer. Hehehe.

Jason Webley, that's it. <3

Then the other band, which i didn't really care about, and then THE DOLLS. It was a religious experience for me, a pilgrimage to the valley to see the patron gods and goddesses of stocking-clad ownage. They played all the best songs, even Girl Anachronism. And an all time favorite of mine, Glass Slipper.

She also got up and sang a song about a sailor in amsterdam, with a beer in her hand. By the end of it, she was completly covered. I think one of the best moments of the night was when she screamed "Get your own motherfucking beer' at some chick in the audience.

I'm so glad the dresden dolls paid a visit to our humble little out-of-the-way country :)
